The Loop Named One of London’s Must-See Cultural Spots by Deputy Mayor for Culture

We’re buzzing to share that Justine Simons OBE, Deputy Mayor for Culture, has featured The Loop in her very short list of must-see places for this year’s Open City: OPEN HOUSE programme.

For us at Hackney Wick & Fish Island Community Development Trust, this is a big moment.

The Loop is our first major project. A proof of concept for a new way of working in East London:

• Community governs. Decisions are made by and for local people.

• Community benefits. The economic gains, creative energy, and opportunities stay here.

• Everyone’s invited. We’re building an economy you can actually walk into and take part in.

Inside The Loop you’ll meet local heroes who are pushing creativity into unexpected places. Turning waste into art, re-engineering materials, and flipping the script on what “value” looks like. It’s circular economy in action, wrapped in community spirit.
